Visioning News

More Sacrificial Giving Is Needed

The Isaiah Oasis needs your help! The original amount of pledges received total around $400,000. To date, the total monies that has been given so far amounts to more than $475,000. The trustees are asking that at least $500,000 be on hand before any groundbreaking is done. A short video clip was shown last year of the Senior Pastor walking on the 8 and I /2 acres parcel, just north of the church on Wayne Avenue, which was purchase by die church in the summer of 2007. This is the future home of the Isaiah Oasis. The video clip DVD of this "faith walk and talk by the Pastor" is available for any member to view. Please see Rev. Alfonza Jones at extension 15 for further details.

While the hoped plan was to march into the Isaiah Oasis Multipurpose Building by September, 2007, there yet remains a need for more members who want to see the vision come to past, to be as sacrificial as the Lord allows. Members are encouraged to please keep their pledge commitments and to encourage other members to do the same. Members who have joined die church since the original pledge commitment, are encouraged to seek more information and then determine, by faith and money pledge made through giving, where they will share in the overall commitment.

This past fall, the trustees, deacons, and Senior Pastor met with a design-build church construction company that is very anxious to work with the church in seeing this proposed project come to past. This is the company that recently completed renovation work done in the church's lobby and chapel areas. It has not been determined if this will be the way that the church will go. All members are encouraged to hear "the voice of the Lord" in this crucial matter of faith, stewardship and trust and to then be prepared to step forward with greater faith and determination to allow the Lord to do greater things in our midst. The church will meet in the near future to determine how we will proceed in chasing the vision that the Lord has put before us.

The Giving Thermometer is placed in the lobby area again to constantly remind us of where we are in the Isaiah Oasis giving. Please continue to give your gifts today toward the Vision - toward the Isaiah Oasis! Remember to pray and fast with your Pastor and church every second Wednesday of each month, 7 AM to 7 PM.
