Covenant 8 Mission
"We are bound together doing things that matter mostly to God!" Matthew 18:19, 20. |
| The word, "Covenant," is taken from the Bible. It is the basic relationship understanding that God and Christ makes with God's people, from Adam through to the New Testament Church. The Vision Name carries the understanding that there are two or more parties who promise or vow to have harmony, agreement, and expectations regarding something or someone. The first name in the Vision Name means that we are bound together, first with God, and then with each other. The term or number"8" symbolizes the eighth pastoral tenure of the church. Before the current pastor, Dr. Elliott Cuff, there have been seven pastors who have served for God at the church. Eight is also the number that follows the Biblical number "seven," a number that is for completion or fullness. Thus, the number "eight" infers a time of new beginnings and fresh starts. The second term in the Vision name means that we are bound together to God and each other doing new things, becoming new things, and creating new things that will manifest as the kingdom of God in the earth during the current pastoral tenure. From these combined understandings the Vision Name the Vision Mission Statement is birthed, "We are bound doing things that matter mostly to God!" Matthew 18:19, 20. |
